mr. xavier // Director

Xavier was born and raised in New York City and came to San Diego with his girlfriend and dog to start a new life for themselves. He has a bachelors degree in Hispanic Literature from Queens College.

Xavier started working with children at a very young age, babysitting for families in his local Queens community. Once he started at the university, Xavier worked with inner-city youth and their families. After graduating from college he worked in Europe for a year with the Tapia Chacon family, caring for and looking after their three young boys. During this time Xavier hiked over 1400 km (870 miles) over the Pyrenees and through northern Spain, an accomplishment he holds dear to himself.  In coming back to the states Xavier began working for a Reggio Emilia inspired non-profit organization/learning center in Brooklyn New York called Studio Creative Play. There with mindfulness practices, they focused on creating a safe, fun and stimulating environment for children to grow and learn with an emphasis on art, music, and movement.

In his free time, you can find Xavier playing sports, hiking, doodling, reading, in his garden, cooking, riding his bike, playing with his dog and practicing some form of martial arts. He is very excited to begin his third year with the company, as the Adams Ave. Assistant Director, and to be a part of the Little Sprouts family, to grow and learn with the entire community.
